HOW TO GET HERE

A combination of bullet train to Kyoto station, local train to Nijo station, and bus is the most efficient way, although buses also run direct from Kyoto station, and a taxi ride from Nijo station is not too expensive (about 1,000 yen).

01

By Train

Kyoto station is accessible by bullet train from Tokyo station or Hiroshima/Okayama/Kobe/Shin-Osaka stn. from the west.  From Kyoto station, switch the the San-in local train line, and take it two stops to Nijo station.  From Nijo station, East Exit, take any of the northbound buses (#6, #46, #55, #201, #206).  Tell the bus driver that you would like to get off at 千本中立売 Sen-bon-naka-dachi-uri or Ichi-jo bus stops.  After getting off the bus, the guesthouse is five minutes away on foot to the west.

02

By Taxi

Catch a cab from Kyoto or Nijo stations, or anywhere in town. Tell them you would like to go to 七本松の中立売 (Shichi-hon-matsu-no-naka-dachi-uri). That should bring you to the intersection a few steps away from the guesthouse.  From Kyoto station, the taxi will cost 2200-2500 yen.  From Nijo station, it is about 900 yen.
